Sources: The Netherlands Isn't Perfect
Full Disclaimer: I hated this video after I made it. I am not qualified to tell you why the Netherlands isn’t perfect and why the Netherlands should be this or that. I’m not a qualified pundit, I’m a moron. So please keep that in mind. There are claims here like “historic” levels of distrust that, in hindsight, I regret describing that way. And also a lot of the connections between Dutch personality and politics I could’ve definitely developed better.
Claims:
These are statements in the video that I have evidence for where the statements either aren’t just standard information (coalition formation process) or completely subjective (the Dutch personality is Priest, Merchant, and old Angry man; this is can just be a completely bullshit statement).
The Netherlands is facing one of the worst housing crises in the world.
Its governing parties face a legitimacy crisis after charing thousands of parents with abusing child benefits.
One that managed corona pretty badly.
Seeing increasing inequality.
Bommerlerwaard was more unequal than Oberbetuwe, but they still shared a fear of water
Danger of water gave rise to dike solidarity.
Communities established waterboards, which required open discussion and consensus.
